Dublin to Ballycastle
We’ll have a morning walk in Dublin. Andy has a 90-minute loop that paints a beautiful picture of the city. Then we’ll pack up and head out! We’ll stop at Malahide Castle for a visit, taking our time to visit the castle and grounds and enjoy lunch. From there, we head up to the Causeway Coast!
Tonight, we will stay at The Salthouse, A luxury eco hotel with breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean… the perfect haven to escape the hustle and bustle of modern-day living. Leave it all behind and discover your coastal calm…

Ballycastle to Donegal
We’ll begin the day with a visit to Carrick-A-Rede Bridge. This is a “conditions permitting” stop, a cautious caveat. It may be that the weather keeps us off the rope bridge, so we’ll head straight to The Giant’s Causeway. Plenty of walking opportunities range from around one mile to just over 3.5 miles. We’ll have lunch at the Visitors’ Center, then head off to the ruins of Dunluce Castle. After a leisurely visit to the castle, we’re off to our castle in Donegal!
Tonight we will stay in the 5-star Lough Eske Castle, Donegal. A long list of enviable and prestigious awards has been received by Lough Eske Castle Hotel throughout the years. Lough Eske Castle has a long history which is wrapped in the story of Co. Donegal and Ireland. It is a story of being carved piece by piece from local stone carried by Clydesdale horses along specially constructed roadways. It is a tale of being won, lost, ruined, and restored. Powerful 14th-century clans of Donegal, the O'Donnells had their seat here, wealthy landowners ruled from here, and Edwardian glamour was played out. In 1861 the new Lough Eske Castle, as we know it today, was built on the site of the old Brooke Mansion. Always a place for entertaining international guests since 1861, Lough Eske Castle remains full of warm Donegal hospitality today as it did over 150 years ago.
-
Donegal to Galway
We begin with an optional early morning visit to Slieve League, the highest sea cliffs in Europe. This is another “conditions permitting” stop. Any rain or fog makes it an exercise in futility- no visibility! It’s a solid climb from the parking area to the cliffs, so bring your walking shoes. If you prefer, hang out for a relaxed breakfast at the castle, and we’ll leave from there to begin our trip to Galway. Along the way, we’ll stop at Connemara National Park for a hike up Diamond Hill or around Diamond Hill if you prefer.
Tonight we stay in Galway at The Galmont Hotel & Spa.
-
Galway to Killarney
Off to Killarney with stops at Corcomroe Abbey and a great walking opportunity at The Cliffs of Moher. We’ll either have lunch at the Visitors’ Center, or hold off until we pass through Westport on our way to Killarney.
We will stay in Killarney at The Victoria for two nights. The Victoria is a beautiful family-run classic 4 Star Boutique hotel set on the scenic Muckross Road of Killarney.
-
Killarney
Big day. We’ll get up and visit Muckross Abbey on our way out of Killarney to drive the best part of the Ring of Kerry. We’ll have lunch in Sneem, and then head back to Killarney for a mid-day break. Then it’s back out to Ross Castle and Slea Head on the Dingle Peninsula. We’ll see the Beehive Huts on Dingle, and have a walk overlooking the Blasket Islands. Our plan is to stop in Dingle for dinner before heading back to Killarney to go to bed!
-
Limerick and Dublin
We’ll stop in Limerick on our way back to Dublin for an early lunch at the Milk Market. Then it’s on to Dublin for an afternoon of tourism and shopping. We’ll offer trips to a couple of museums in the city, or you can shop for whatever you’d like to bring home! Then it’s dinner together at a pub before we head out to our airport hotel for the night.
We will stay close to the airport at Clayton Hotel Dublin tonight. You will enjoy our final night in Ireland in an elegant and luxurious room, enjoy fine dining at the Playwright Bar or The Italian Kitchen, and get complimentary 24/7 shuttle service to Dublin Airport.
