Arrive in Oslo, Norway
Group will arrive in Oslo by 2 p.m. and meet at the airport to transfer to our first hotel Thon Hotel Slottsparken in the city center of Oslo. Participate in an optional walking tour of the city, including Damstredet and Telthusbakken. In addition, we will visit the Old Aker Church and Akershus Castle.

Aurdal to Beitostolen
Kvamskleiva is the first section of the hike along Kongevegen from Vang to Lærdal and one of the original roads built-in 1808. The trail lifts you up and over Kvamskleiva overlooking Vangsmjøsa, Vang’s beautiful lake.
The original stone walls lining the road were built to help travelers maneuver the trail safely, but this road was quite treacherous for vehicles when used for transportation. Now acting as just a hiking path, it is one of the best-known and highly regarded hiking trails that one can enjoy in Norway.
We will visit the Oye Stave Church during our hike today and then drive up to Beitostolen for the night, where we will stay at the Radisson Blu Mountain Resort. Enjoy an optional evening walk on Bitihorn, a nearby mountain, or relax at your leisure and enjoy the resort.
-
Lom
Today we will drive to Lom and hike in the area. One possible route is the Langvasshøe fra Leirvassbu Fjellstue, an 8.2 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Lom, Innlandet, that features a lake and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking and bird watching.
We will have an optional visit to the Fossheim Steinsenter mineral museum in Lom and stay at the Fossheim Hotel.

Lom to Sognefjord
For the next few days, we’ll be hiking the Kongevegen and exploring the fjord. In addition, we will take a boat tour out of Flåm this morning.
On this trip, you will explore the impressive Nærøyfjord up close and enjoy the magnificent and untouched world heritage nature from a RIB boat! Before the trip starts, your guide will inform you about the safety conditions. RIB-boats are equipped with all the necessary safety equipment, and you will receive floatation suits to keep you warm and for safety.
On the heritage fjord safari in Flåm, you head out through the world heritage Aurlandsfjord and further into the stunning Nærøyfjord. The turning point is in Gudvangen, the end of the Nærøyfjord.
Along the way, you will make stops at attractions and spots for seals, porpoises, and eagles. The guide will tell you about the fjord, local history, and the wildlife; share with you stories, tales, and legends, from various places of interest.
On the return trip to Flåm, your captain will ride on the opposite side of the fjord with a different view and different impressions.
Tonight, we will stay at Klingenberg Hotel in Ardalstangen.

Hiking the Kongevegen
This morning we will hike the Galdan-Seltunasen loop and, after lunch, we will hike the Vindhella-Sverristigen loop.
Kongevegen through Galdane is packed with legends and experiences and has inspired national icons.
The legendary Olavsklemma, the majestic Laukebergbakken, the picturesque Soknefossen, and the fascinating Galdane croft are only four examples of what you will experience along.
In the afternoon, we will do a round-trip, walking Vindhellavegen one way and then Sverrestigen back. On the map, Vindhellavegen is the shortest route between Husum and Borgund, whereas Sverrestigen bends like a horseshoe towards the south.
It is said that King Sverre, in October 1177, used Sverrestigen to avoid farmers who were waiting and ready with stones and logs to throw on the Birkebeiners who were expected to pass. King Sverre attacked the farmers from behind and sent them fleeing.
The trip leads to Klanten's mountain peak, which is likely to have served as an old fortification.
We will continue our stay at the Klingenberg Hotel in Ardalstangen.

Hiking the Highland Sections
Between Kyrkjestølen and Maristova, you will cross the actual Filefjell and reach Kongevegen’s highest point.
The stretch across Murkløpphøgda is an exciting walk of some 10 km, with spectacular views of the Hurrungane peaks.
Here you can see what it meant to build a road according to “the French principle.” It was as straight a line as possible, with great emphasis on drainage and foundation work, but without any particular consideration for the character of the terrain.
In practical terms, it was the shortest route from Gamlestøga on the eastern side to Maristova on the western side.
This characteristic road-building method is highly noticeable if you walk from west to east, i.e., from Maristova and up the hills known as “the seven disappointments.”
This will most certainly get your heart rate going – it is steep.
The hills have been given this name because every time you think you have completed the climb, you realize yet another hill before you reach the top.
This happens seven times. Hence, you are disappointed seven times.
Tonight we will stay at Fyri Resort in Hemsedal.
