  • Day 1 - Arrive London

    Plan your flight from the US to arrive in London (LHR) today. We’ve arranged to stay close to the airport for the night at Courtyard by Marriott London Heathrow. If you wish to arrive a day early, please let us know, and we will arrange for a pre-night at our hotel.

    Welcome to London! We are delighted to have you joining us on July 13. As you embark on your journey to this vibrant city, immerse yourself in its rich history, iconic landmarks, and diverse culture. From the majestic Buckingham Palace to the bustling streets of Covent Garden, London offers many experiences that captivate you. Whether you're a history enthusiast, a food lover, or a fashion aficionado, London has something for everyone.

    After our walking tour in Wales, we are pleased to inform you that our professional birder and local guide, Andy, will lead a captivating walking tour of London. With Andy's extensive knowledge and expertise, you can expect an insightful and engaging experience as you explore the city's hidden gems and iconic landmarks on foot.

  • Day 2 - Transfer to Wales by train

    Next, your journey will take you from London to Wales via train, departing from Paddington Station. Traveling by train offers a convenient and scenic way to reach your destination. As you board the train, sit back and relax while enjoying the picturesque views of the British countryside. The journey from Paddington Station to Wales will allow you to appreciate the natural beauty and charm of the surrounding landscapes. This train ride promises to be a comfortable and enjoyable part of your travel experience. We will enjoy lunch in the dining car on our way.

    Upon arriving in Wales, you will check into your hotel, the Twr y Felin, where you will stay for the week. Located in a picturesque setting, the Twr y Felin blends modern comfort and traditional charm. You will be greeted by a warm and welcoming atmosphere as you enter the hotel. The attentive staff will ensure your stay is exceptional, providing all the necessary amenities and services. Whether you relax in the comfortable rooms, indulge in delicious cuisine at the hotel's restaurant, or explore the surrounding area, the Twr y Felin will be a perfect base for our week-long stay in Wales.

  • Day 3 - Solva to St. David's

    Solva is a charming coastal village on the north side of St. Bride's Bay. It is renowned for its stunning harbor, colorful houses, and scenic walks. Walking from Main Street, you'll likely see the harbor bustling with fishing boats and yachts.

    The initial part of the walk may lead you through the village's narrow streets, passing quaint cottages and local shops.

    En route, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the sea and the rugged Pembrokeshire coastline. Keep an eye out for seabirds, and if you're lucky, you might spot seals basking on the rocks or playing in the waves.

    The coastal path from Solva to St. David's is well-marked and maintained, making it accessible to walkers of varying abilities. As you progress along the path, you'll encounter diverse landscapes, from dramatic cliffs and sandy coves to heathland and wildflower meadows.

  • Day 4 - St David's to Whitesands Beach

    Walking from St. David's to Whitesands Beach offers another delightful route through the beautiful landscapes of Pembrokeshire, Wales. This coastal walk allows you to experience the rugged charm of the Welsh coastline and enjoy the sandy shores of Whitesands Beach.

    Begin your walk from the historic St. David's Cathedral, which holds deep religious and cultural significance. Take some time to explore the cathedral and its surroundings before setting out on your journey. The cathedral's stunning architecture and peaceful atmosphere provide a fitting starting point for your walk.

    The coastal path from St. David's to Whitesands Beach is well-marked and takes you through coastal cliffs, meadows, and fields. You'll be treated to panoramic views of the sea and the coastline, making for a picturesque and invigorating walk.

    En route, you may encounter interesting geological formations, diverse plant and animal life, and perhaps even some ancient ruins or historical sites that add depth to your journey.

    Your walk culminates at Whitesands Beach, a stunning sandy stretch popular among locals and visitors. The golden sands and clear blue waters create a serene and inviting atmosphere, making it a perfect spot to unwind after your walk.

  • Day 5 - Whitesands Beach to Porthgain

    The walk from Whitesands Beach to Porthgain is a stunning coastal hike that takes you through some of the most picturesque landscapes of Pembrokeshire, Wales. This trail offers a mix of rugged cliffs, sandy beaches, and historic sites, providing an unforgettable experience for nature enthusiasts and history lovers alike.

    Your walk culminates in the quaint and historic village of Porthgain. This former industrial village was once a bustling harbor and center for the slate and granite trade. Today, Porthgain exudes a charming and laid-back vibe with its picturesque harbor, traditional cottages, and art galleries.

    Be sure to explore the harbor area, where you can find remnants of the village's industrial past, including old ruins and the disused brickworks.

    The walk from Whitesands Beach to Porthgain takes you through a diverse and captivating landscape.

    Tonight, we will enjoy an early group dinner after our long hike. Porthgain is also known for its seafood. We will enjoy a delicious meal at a restaurant serving freshly caught fish and other seafood delicacies.

  • Day 6 - Porthgain to Aber Mawr

    Begin your walk from the charming village of Porthgain. Take some time to explore the village's historic harbor and its remnants of the industrial past. Porthgain was once a thriving slate and granite quarrying port, and you can still see old ruins and the disused brickworks that serve as reminders of its industrial heritage.

    As you leave the village behind, the coastal path leads you through picturesque cliffs and meadows, offering panoramic vistas of the sea and the surrounding countryside.

    As you continue your coastal hike, you'll pass by the captivating cove of Abereiddy once again. This is the location of the famous Blue Lagoon, a former slate quarry now filled with beautiful turquoise water. It's a great spot to take a break and enjoy the unique scenery before continuing your journey.

    Beyond Abereiddy, the path takes you through heathland and along the cliff tops, providing more stunning coastal views. Keep an eye out for seabirds and other wildlife along the way.

    Your walk concludes at the beautiful Aber Mawr beach. This secluded sandy beach is tucked away in a picturesque cove and is known for its unspoiled natural beauty. The beach is a great place to relax, have a picnic, and perhaps dip your toes in the refreshing waters of the Irish Sea.

  • Day 7 - St. David’s Environs and return to London

    A short walk from St. David's leads you to St. Non's Bay, where you can visit St. Non's Chapel and Holy Well. This area is said to be the birthplace of St. David, the patron saint of Wales. The coastal path in this area offers stunning views of the cliffs and sea, making it an ideal spot for contemplation and relaxation.

    After our morning walk, we will return to London by train and check in to our final hotel, Strathmore Hotel.

  • Day 8 - Walking tour of London

    On our final day of the tour, we will have the pleasure of spending the morning walking through the vibrant city of London with our knowledgeable guides, Andy and Chuck. Andy, our expert in London's history, culture, and landmarks, will ensure an unforgettable day exploring the city's highlights. This tour will cover iconic landmarks, historic sites, and beautiful parks in the city. Please note that walking times can vary depending on your pace, but this route should take 2-3 hours.

    Highlights of this tour may include viewing the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben (officially known as the Elizabeth Tower), and the Palace of Westminster. We will stroll through St. James's Park, one of London's most beautiful royal parks, with stunning views of Buckingham Palace. Exit St. James's Park at its northern end and head to the Horse Guards Parade, where we may watch the changing of the Horse Guards. We will continue our walk from Horse Guards Parade to Downing Street, the residence of the British Prime Minister. We will end our tour at Trafalgar Square.

    Trafalgar Square is in the heart of London's West End, known for its vibrant shopping districts. From Trafalgar Square, you'll find several shopping options within walking distance.

  • Day 9 - Departure from London

    Please schedule your return flight to depart London (LHR) on July 21.
